Key benefits

  • Official-size ready

2560×1440 matches YouTube’s recommended channel banner upload dimensions.

  • 16:9 crop

Frame the art to the banner ratio before scaling so edges are not stretched.

  • Private

Your channel art never leaves the browser.

Safe area tips

YouTube shows different parts of the banner on TV, desktop, tablet, and phone. The full 2560×1440 file is uploaded, but only a center band is guaranteed on every device. Keep the channel name and key graphics toward the middle.

Need a smaller file after export? Use the image compressor or Compress to 200 KB if your upload is heavy.

FAQ

Common questions

What size should a YouTube banner be?

YouTube recommends uploading 2560×1440 pixels. That is the default on this page. Minimums can change—check YouTube Studio if an upload is rejected.

Why doesn’t my whole banner show on mobile?

Mobile and TV crop the sides and top/bottom differently. Design for the center safe area so critical text stays visible everywhere.

JPG or PNG?

JPG is fine for photos and most artwork. Switch to PNG in the settings if you need sharper graphics or transparency is required elsewhere (YouTube banners are typically opaque).

Is my banner uploaded to resize?

No. Cropping and resizing run in your browser.
